LCDR Floyd Fry departed on Eternal Patrol on December 20, 2016. Commander Fry was born June 16, 2939. He loved vacationing with his nine grand-kids, two sons and two daughters-in-law.
Commander Fry enlisted in January 1958 and served 9 years, 7 months’ active duty and 31 years, 11 months in the Navy Reserve for a total of 41 years. He advanced from E1 to E8 and then further advanced from Warrant Officer to LCDR. He served on the following boats:
USS Queenfish (SS-393) as a YN3(SS) 1958-1960 where he qualified in submarines. USS Scamp (SSN-588) as a YN2(SS) 1960-62. USS Plunger (SSN-595) as a YN2(SS) 1962-63. USS Stonewall Jackson (SSBN-634) as a YN2(SS) 1966-67 Blue Crew.
