BEWARE
On 12th December i had notification of 3 windows updates, after checking what they were (seemed like normal updates) i downloaded them (from the windows update site) and my PC went back to year zero with ALL home screen folders and contents gone.
Hardrive and all backups still intact, just any folders, documents, pictures and receipts all vanished. So, as windows creates a restore point i had to quickly restore back to the point just prior to the actual downloads (everything back in order).
The updates were for Windows 7 onwards. A list of the updates are shown below. If you can see any or all 3 of these specific downloads in your download options then right click on them and “hide”… This will prevent further intrusion… Good luck…
If and when you ever get a Dodgy windows update, always go to recent restore point and “Restore” (only takes around 5 minutes) then “hide” the offending update.
