“kaiOS” operating system
The “kaiOS” operating system was initially developed for third world countries (no disrepect intended) where communications / bandwidth / upload and download speeds are restrictive to infrastructre in the local regions. Plus, you either have to use solar power to recharge or place under a light bulb etc…
So, Doro and Nokia came out with the two models as shown above. These are great phones (for the rest of the world) for over 70s who purely wish to make calls or send a short (T9) txt, absolutely no problem there at all, great choice for that limited use only…
Those of us aged from 50s upwards (and there are millions of us) who wish to step back from these all singing and dancing itunes or million pixel front and rear camera phones the size of Tablets. There is nothing, zilch worth buying.
SPECIFICATION FOR PERFECT FLIP PHONE
Its has to be flip style (we were used to that years ago when we all had Nokia, Motorola etc)
Must be Sim Free
Must have 3″ (3 inch screen)
Must have normal txting facility, not T9 type due to fatter, less nimble fingers and NO PATIENCE
Must have, due to family and grandchildren etc, access to Whatsapp, Skype, Facebook and Dropbox to access and load phone storage, the four basic social contact facilities (forget Twitter, Linkedin etc)
Must be able to get all my emails via POP3 for same reason, Gmail, Outlook, Anything else etc
Must be able to access banking apps (to check on pension payments)
Must have access to sat nav facilty through Google maps etc
Must have WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G / 5G and GPS / Internet Access (Forget 2G and 3G, not worth it)
Must have minimum 128gb (even if memory card has to be used) maximum of 250gb would be perfect
Must have front & rear camera 5MP will be fine
Must have alarm to wake me up for my medication
Must have good battery life
Must have earphone connection (with loop facility for those with “Harder Hearing issues”)
Must have “Louder Volume” option (incase i lose my earphones)
Must have facility for normal backup and app upgrades through regular android stores (not kaiOS) and (not apple, not iPhone type software, its too confusing for our age group)
FORGET THE FOLLOWING (not pre loaded options whatsoever)
Radio, Hotspots, zillion mega pixel cameras, HD Movie Playback, MP3 Player, Cloud and any other rubbish not mentioned in the above list etc…
RECOMMENDED PRICE TO CHARGE (per unit)
£200 to £250 Sterling (there is a huge market out there that mobile phone manufaturers / companies are not serving, unable to understand why. The older population is growing faster than the younger generation ?!?!?!?!?
Dont roll out some test model that takes another 2 or 3 years to upgrade or perfect, just DOIT…
