Colour Sgt Aaron “Tiny” Winter

 

Background.  Colour Sergeant Aaron “Tiny” Winter was employed as the Provost Sergeant at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM).  He died at the Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton on the 06 Dec 13.  A full Military Funeral will be conducted at the Church of St Mary Magdalen, Church Square, Magdalene St, TAUNTON, Somerset, TA1 1SA at 1400 hrs on Thu 19 Dec 13.  On completion of the funeral service there will be a private family cremation at Taunton Dean Crematorium, Wellington New Rd, Taunton, TA1 5NE at 1500 hrs.  A Wake will be held for close family and invited friends, including all military personnel, at 40 Commando Royal Marines Warrant Officer and Sergeants Mess, Norton Manor Camp Taunton, TA2 6PF upon completion of the cremation.

2. Born on the 23 Jul 74; Aaron, “Tiny” as he was known in the Corps, joined the Royal Marines aged 22 years on the 11 Nov 96.  Throughout his service Tiny was proud of his General Duties background, being assigned to a number of Units including 40 Cdo RM and CTCRM.  Tiny deployed operationally to Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.  Along with his campaign medals he was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals.

The RMA National Standard will be in attendance and any other standards will be more than welcome. Rehearsals are likely to be either the day before, or on the morning of the service. 

The National Standard bearer, Tony Male is in contact with the Funeral Officer so any standard bearer who wishes to know further details should contact Tony on 07758 438469.

RMA members are also welcome to attend the service and Wake, but are to be aware that the Cremation is a private affair for close family and friends only.

The Church is likely to be extremely busy so please arrive early.
