FLOYD – Michael P. Geoghegan, 63, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017. He was born in New York City, on February 4, 1954, the son of the late Peter and MaryGeoghegan. He was a 1971 graduate of Power Memorial Academy. On June 25, 1983, he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie Brown. She passed away on January 13, 2012.Mike served his country in the US Navy from 1972-1975 aboard the USS Stonewall Jackson, a ballistic missile submarine. (Mike was an ST3(SS) and a member of the Blue Crew)He just recently retired as a Deputy Superintendent of Securtiy with the NYS Department of Corrections after a 39 year career.Mike enjoyed playing golf, snowmobiling, exercising and he loved to travel.He is survived by his son, Adam Geoghegan, of Salt Lake City, UT; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Linda Geoghegan, of Gifford, IL and Kevin and Eileen Geoghegan, of Mahopac, NY; his fiancé, Toni Pianella; two nieces, Julie Geoghegan and Hope Brown; and four nephews, Charlie, Andrew, and Kenny Geoghegan and Kyle Brown.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Peter’s Church in Rome. Interment will take place in Floyd Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral, Inc., 418 N.
