Maxine Ashby at the Naval Recovery Centre gave me your details, as I am looking for participants for a research project I am running at the H4H Recovery Centers (including Plymouth) over the next few months.
This has been approved (as part of a PhD), by the Veterans Institute at the Anglia Ruskin University (supervised by Prof Jamie Hacker Hughes) and the Help for Heroes Research committee (chaired by Prof Neil Greenberg).
I ran a successful pilot in Gloucestershire in 2015, and we are now recruiting veterans who are experiencing at least weekly nightmares, but who are not currently receiving trauma focused treatment and are moderately stable (full criteria in the info sheet).
Essentially, I am comparing sleep hygiene with the (new) planned dream intervention concept, both of which are taught to groups of c.10 people in a 2 hr class. Both are about learning skills rather than sharing past experience. The sessions will be held at the 4 Help for Heroes Recovery centers in April/May and September this year. The Plymouth centre sessions are on either Tue/Wed 26/27th April, but I will be doing further ones in September.
PLUS…
I am also running sessions in Tedworth, Catterick and Colchester in May, and will be repeating all in September.
Any help that you are able to provide would be fantastic – either sharing with your database, or putting on noticeboards or advertising at meetings – you just need to point people at me and I will take it from there.
There is also a link to registration page that can be used with social media: http://bit.ly/1RQKjXK
Kinds regards,
Justin
Ps. I did speak to Riccardo, but never heard back.
