Oxford University is conducting a study into the impact of combat experiences on the brain. There will be many of you who will have relevant experience that may help this important work which is aimed at improving the understanding of the impact of combat so that, ultimately, treatment might be improved for those who suffer from such experiences through their service. Please read the detail below carefully and, in particular if you and an oppo are able to offer the team what they are looking for please contact them directly…
We are conducting a study to deepen our understanding on the impact that combat experiences have on the brain. To do so, we are looking at differences between people with combat experience who develop combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder and those who do not. Participating would involve answering some questions about your experiences and health, and have two scans (MEG and MRI). We are looking for men aged 25-55 years to participate. Full information is available by telephoning 01865 613127 or emailing marina. charqueroballester@psych.ox. ac.uk. You would be reimbursed for your participation in each phase of the study.
If you know of somebody with a similar combat experience to yours (e.g., same year and theatre of operations, same or similar missions), it would be great if you could pass him our information as well. If you do not know anyone who might be interested in participating do not worry about it, your participation in the study would be of great help to us anyway!
