I have just received a phone call from a relative of Les’s to inform me that he has passed away in a Dementia home.
We did know he was in this home and had regular visits from our welfare officer and myself. Les will be well known to the Standard Bearer community as one of the few who did Arromanches and other celebrations involving HMQ.
The funeral is this Friday 4th March at 4pm, at Thanet Crematorium, Manston Road, Margate, Kent.The rush is because his son’s are coming from the states for the funeral.
I can have at least 3 Standards there. Can this be put out as a rep net message, we may get some more local Standards who knew him.
