SUEZ LANDINGS 60TH ANNIVERSARY 6th November 1956 – 2016

Members of ”BAKER Troop” 45 Cdo RM 1955/57 are in the process of organising a reunion to celebrate this Anniversary. It is being held at the Tillington Hall Hotel Stafford over the weekend of  5th and 6th of November 2016 (Sat. and. Sun) with the ‘sit down’ Dinner on the Sunday evening and departing on the Monday morning; although there are a number who have booked in for the whole  weekend  (including Friday the 4th).  The Dinner will be informal with a Dress Code of Smart Casual (e.g.Blazers and Flannels etc.), medals should not be worn.

The weekend is open to ALL units who served in the actual assault on Port Said and wives /partners are welcome.

The Guest of Honour will be Major General Nick Vaux CB DSO RM (Rtd), who served in 45 at Suez as a young Lieutenant and who later became CO of 42 Commando that served with distinction in the Falklands War.

It is intended that the weekend will include a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas on the Sunday morning.

There are still a limited amount of rooms available for any interested parties who partook in this historical event.
