COMMANDO LOGISTIC REGIMENT ROYAL MARINES
Background. Marine Younghusband was tragically knocked down and killed whilst crossing railway lines in the early hours of Thursday 10 December 2015. The family have opted for a service funeral.

Marine Younghusband. Marine Younghusband, aged 22, was born on 25 January 1993 in South Africa and grew up in Telford, Shropshire. He joined the Royal Marines in February 2012 and after nine months arduous training passed for duty as a Royal Marine Commando with 141 Tp. On completion, he joined 42 Commando in Bickleigh Barracks, Plymouth. Employed as a rifleman in a close combat troop, he deployed as part of the United Kingdom’s Lead Commando Group before volunteering for his Stores Accountant Class 3 course. Having worked alongside his father in business he felt that management of logistic stores would serve to give him a full and gratifying career. He commenced the course in May 2014 and was drafted to the Quartermaster’s department at the Commando Logistics Regiment Royal Marines in Chivenor, Devon. Mne Younghusband quickly proved to be an intelligent and confident Stores Accountant, and as such was selected for the Ammunition Course which gained him promotion to Lance Corporal. His success in this work is evident by his rapid progression on to a Stores Accountant Class 2 course in November 2015.

Marine Younghusband Family. Mne Younghusband leaves behind a very close knit family, who are devastated by his death, but under the circumstances are bearing up reasonably well. Mr Robert McYoung (his paternal father) is self-employed and works alongside his wife Mrs Burnadette McYoung (Step Mother who has raised Mne Younghusband from a young age). He leaves behind his brother Terry Younghusband aged 31, half sister Kendra aged 5 and half brother Jayd aged 8.

The funeral service will take place at All Saints Church, Church Street, Wellington, Shropshire, TF1 3HA at 1130hrs on Wednesday 30 December 2015, followed by a private family Cremation at Telford Crematorium, Woodhouse Lane, Redhill, Telford, TF2 9NJ which will also include selected military representatives. 

The funeral party will be provided Commando Logistic Regiment Royal Marines and it will consist of an Officer IC, a bearer party of 6 ranks with 2 reserves along with a firing party of 12. I/C of the Funeral party and responsible for all administrative requirements will be CSgt Payne (DL1), CLR RM. RM Band Service, Portsmouth, will provide a bugler.

The RMA National Standard Bearer will also be in attendance and any other Standard Bearers, and RM veterans that can attend will be most welcome.

Mne Younghusbands family are immensely proud of his service in the Royal Marines and all who attend are expected to uphold the highest traditions of the Corps.
