22.5hrs  Monday to Wednesday.

Permanent; subject to 6 months probation

This is an exciting new post and an opportunity for a trustworthy, well-motivated self-starter to join a busy, tight-knit team and help make a difference to serving and former Royal Marines and their families who find themselves in need.

You will be responsible for receiving initial welfare calls, processing financial grant request for the RM Benevolent Fund, assisting with veteran casework, entering information into the welfare section of the RMA website, maintaining databases, liaising between other veteran support agencies and being responsible for the administration of RM Veteran Support training courses.

The successful applicant will have an approachable and friendly telephone manner, must be able to work competently and be able to organize their own workload independently whilst having the ability to work co-operatively as part of a small team in a very busy work environment. Applicants must be IT literate and familiar with standard IT packages and other systems and databases such as the COBSEO Casework Management System used to gain access to welfare case records. Discretion and sensitivity is essential, as is knowledge of the Royal Marines and welfare work. The role can occasionally require some travel and manual work in supporting RMA Veteran events and courses.
