Just an update on the launch of the book called ’46 Miles’ written by Jarra Brown

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Just an update on the launch of the book called ’46 Miles’ written by Jarra Brown a former MOD Policeman stationed at RAF Lyneham.  The day of the book launch on Saturday 27th June on the Hoe at Plymouth during Armed Forces Day was a rip-roaring success.  Receiving much attention from all branches of the media and the general public, this book tells the story of repatriation from RAF Lyneham along the 46 mile route to Oxford.  The story is told in an emotional way straight from the heart of the author and brings the losses endured by the bereaved families to the fore highlighting the support and respect they received during the repatriations.

I would humbly suggest that anybody involved or attending the repatriations would do well to obtain a copy of this book so they can reflect on the happenings all along the 46 mile route.  Obviously, you can buy the book over the internet, or through bookshops.  However, I would encourage that you consider buying the book from the Royal Marines Shop – http://royalmarinesshop.com – and by highlighting the ‘Military’ tab, followed by ‘Books’ and going to page 3 – http://royalmarinesshop.com/military/books.html?p=3 –  the Book 46 Miles will be found.

The cost of ‘shipping’ can be found on the home page at the bottom and the book when packaged weighs in at about 0.762 kg.  See that page for the added shipping costs in the UK and to various parts of the World.  Books have already been ordered for delivery in the USA.

Purchasing via our fundraising Royal Marine Shop ensures the profits go to helping the Royal Marines Family both past and present, which would be much appreciated by us all.

The story of the Royal Marine Association’s involvement starts at Chapter 11 when the first of the Corps twenty-five fatal casualties started to come home along this route.

I remain, as always,

Yours,

Blondie

Royal Marines Association Repatriation Team
