Former RSM Jack Lacy RM has Crossed the Bar

THE FUNERAL OF FORMER RSM JACK LACY RM

Jack served from 1939 until 1961, he was RSM at Deal and Poole in the late 50s. He was 94 when he crossed the bar and I hope that anyone in the area will be able to attend his funeral and give him the send of that he undoubtedly deserves.

Wednesday 16th July at St. Mary’s Church, Thame at 13.45.

Following the Church service, guests are invited to The Old Fisherman, Shabbington. Tea and coffee will be available in the conservatory on arrival, followed by a sandwich tea at 4pm.

In between there will be a brief service of committal at Oxford crematorium at 3.15, which family members will attend along with anyone else who wants to join them.

The local RMA is sending a standard bearer; we are hoping there will also be a Marine bugler, but we have yet to hear.

Dad has asked for no black to be worn; to dress in colour. [Though I imagine he will want former Marines to dress just as former Marines would wish to at such an occasion.]

Family flowers only. Donations to go to “Shaftesbury Young People” or “The Royal British Legion”.

At a later date there will be a memorial Meeting for Dad at the Friends Meeting House in Rochester, Kent.

I attach a map showing St. Mary’s Thame. Further links:
