Ed Mahler EM1(SS). I am sad to inform you that on February 19, 2014 Ed passed away. Edward Joseph Mahler was born on September 22, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey. Ed joined the navy in about 1960 and served for eight years. He was a member of E Division on the Commissioning Gold Crew. After leaving the navy Ed worked at the Mare Island Shipyard, where the Stonewall Jackson was built, for thirty-six years.
