Noted passing of Terry Van DeVort<\/p>\n
VAN DE VOORT, Terry Lee, was born on January 4, 1944 and passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Terry was a resident of Bay City, Maryland at the time of passing. He graduated from Pigeon (Michigan) High School in 1962. Terry had a 20-year (1962-1983) career in the U.S. Navy, serving on diesel and nuclear submarines, retiring as a chief warrant officer. Mr. Van DeVort served on the USS Stonewall Jackson (SSBN-634) Blue Crew from 1974 to 1976 as an MMC(SS). He also served in the following ships.<\/p>\n

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Melillo officiating. Burial will be in New Bay Port Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7 Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Michigan Veteran’s Foundation<\/p>\n
