George Hoyt passed on October 16, 2015.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
I <\/span><\/span>always hate\u00a0sending these messages, but this one is especially difficult since I served with George.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
George Hoyt served as a CS2 (SS) on the Stonewall Jackson Blue Crew\u00a0from 1967 to 1970.\u00a0 He retired from the Navy as a CSCM (SS).\u00a0\u00a0 He also served on USS Carbonero (SS 337), USS Barbel (SS 580), USS Halibut (SSN-587), and USS Seadragon (SSN-584).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 George was a fine cook, but he will always be remembered for being our Night Baker and the fantastic Sticky Buns he produced.\u00a0 He was always supportive in the activities of our association and attended all of our reunions.<\/div>\n
At this time I don’t have any other information except that he is at the Quattlebaum Funeral Home in West Palm Beach, Florida.\u00a0 Since he passed yesterday, his\u00a0memorial service is still in the planning stage, but please check with\u00a0the funeral home with this link:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dear Family and Friends,<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
It is with sadness that I share with you that my husband, George Hoyt, passed away today.\u00a0 <\/span>He passed in peace.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
As many of you know it has been a whirlwind of a year in and out of the hospital as well as in and out of rehab.\u00a0 <\/span>The past few months have been challenging, but he was then moved to rehab and was doing very well this past week and we had an expected date that he would be coming home.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
So the events<\/span>\u00a0of today were very unexpected.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Please keep watch in the paper as we are hoping to have a Memorial Service later on this week for George at Quattlebaum Funeral home on Okeechobee Blvd if you would like to come and pay your respects.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
