Royal Marines Association Golf Society<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/p>\n

A quick update on the RMA Golf Society. \u00a0Please note that we are half way through the season now and the golf has been a bit like the weather \u2013 a little changeable! \u00a0But we have had many highly entertaining and enjoyable days out. \u00a0I won\u2019t dwell on the past here as I want to look ahead.<\/p>\n

We have a few events coming up which warrant your attention and I would ask you to make a note and try to attend as many as you can.<\/p>\n

Belfry North v South Match \u2013 this weekend Sunday\/Monday 23\/24 August. \u00a0The inaugural North v south match. \u00a0This is mainly a South West v South West match this year but we do have one or two from other areas attending. \u00a0We hope the weather will shine on us and all have a great weekend. \u00a0We will report next week on the results.<\/p>\n

Society v Thorverton \u2013 Thursday 27 August.<\/strong> \u00a0George has a team for this match next week. \u00a0It seems as if the hospital must have kicked the Thorverton team out following their hip replacements and got them ready at last.<\/p>\n

RMA Annual Society Day \u2013 Thursday 17 September <\/strong>Tiverton GC. \u00a0This is the big day for the society and we are keen to get everyone to come along. \u00a0IT will start in the morning with the AGM and be followed by a match just for us. \u00a0Tiverton is a great course if you have not played it and the weather has been booked. \u00a0We will end the day with a good meal and a couple of glasses of whatever you fancy. \u00a0This will lead into and select the team for \u2026.<\/p>\n

The RMA v RM Match \u2013 Friday 18 September Tiverton GC. <\/strong>\u00a0This is the annual match sponsored by the RMA prior to the RMA Reunion. \u00a0The team will be selected from those who play on the Thursday and those who volunteer but cannot make the Thursday. \u00a0It will be the usual format with the RM hosting us this year. \u00a0With the Corps programme more stable now we look forward to a day with full teams. \u00a0Anyone who turns up on the day will get a game regardless of whether they are selected for the formal \u2018team\u2019, so come along.<\/p>\n

End of Season Match \u2013Thursday 22 October Ashley Wood GC.<\/strong> \u00a0Match v The Royal Wessex Yeomanry (RWxY) to mark the end of the season. \u00a0But to prove it\u2019s not really the end of season\u2026<\/p>\n

The Turkey Trot \u2013 Thursday 17 December Tiverton GC. <\/strong>\u00a0This really is the end of season event and was a great success last year. \u00a0Come along and grab yourself some Christmas fare.<\/p>\n

Other events will follow these and will be added to the website and advertised at the AGM. \u00a0If you wish to play in any of these please let George Martin know at the email address: george.martin01@btinternet.com<\/a> .
\nHe will let you know how to pay then.<\/p>\n

Can I add one final plea \u2013 if you can make it please do come to the Society Day on Thursday 17 September at Tiverton. \u00a0We want to make this a great annual main event. \u00a0The prizes cup will be over flowing!<\/p>\n
