Doctors say they cannot cope with town&#8217;s soaring population&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1.4em;\"><b>Lily Dove, 95, has been &#8216;de-registered&#8217; from her GP in Watton, Norfolk<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1.4em;\"><b>Along with 1,500 others, she has been told to move to another practice<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1.4em;\"><b>The process is a result of lack of GP&#8217;s and increased population<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">Lily Dove has used her GP practice for so long that she remembers when the doctor would visit on a horse and trap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">Now the 95-year-old great-grandmother is being removed from its register because so many newcomers have moved into the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">Some 1,500 people are being taken off the database by the medical practice in Watton, Norfolk, which has struggled\u00a0 to recruit enough new GPs to cope with the market town\u2019s rapidly growing\u00a0 population \u2013 many of them Eastern Europeans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">Mrs Dove was shocked and upset to\u00a0 be told she would be \u2018de-registered\u2019 within a fortnight and would have to move to a different clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">When she complained she was told no exception could be made for her because it would be \u2018discriminatory\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">Mrs Dove, a widow from the nearby village of Ashill, has lived in the area since her birth in January 1919.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">She suffers from a number of health problems, and now fears that her failing eyesight means it would be dangerous for her to start using an unfamiliar surgery in the next nearest town, Swaffham.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em;\">She said: \u2018I am deteriorating a bit.
